A special court martial will at least keep him from being dismissed and a felony conviction, even with the conduct unbecoming an officer charges. Most of the charges limit the max punishment to no more than a year in confinement.

Hopefully he’s smart enough not to go for a general court martial.

CWO4 Terrence Clark - I wouldn't know. I've never commanded a BN, but for the most part...no it is not what any CO should do. If he felt so strongly, he could have resigned in silence, and pursued his cause once separated. Even then there are limits. As AIT BN CO he at least was in charge of more seasoned Marines, minimizing any impact, hopefully. He could have worsened things by using his Command to further his goals. The CM will decide, and as a Marine Veteran I trust their judgement. He is innocent for now.
