It always amazes me how recent human history on a geologic scale. Even with that relatively short amount of time, humans have expanded their footprint (in this case, literally) around the globe.

This is the great part about science. We've always thought it was somewhere between 13000 and 17000 years ago before humans even set foot in North America. We explore, find new things, study them, and adjust previous theories if needed.
Of course, I'm still waiting for how the aliens fit into all of this. :)
