What is it with all the whining by diplomats these days. Boo hoo. The bromance is over between France and Australia. Seems to be the same between Canada and the US too.

When a country takes action to undermine an ally, the ally has a right to be pissed. When the action is taken KNOWING that it will hurt the ally: diplomatically, economically, *and* influentially, the ally has a right to be pissed. And when the action is taken unilaterally without even DISCUSSING IT with the ally, the ally has a right to be SUPER pissed.

With friends like these....

I am not going to cast a vote one way or the other with the decision. Frankly, I don't know enough about naval warfare, subs, *or* the strategic situation in the Indo-Pacific to have an even half-way legitimate opinion. But, quite similar to the whole Afghanistan withdrawal fiasco, despite not having an 9educated) opinion one way or the other on the decision, I can tell that the EXECUTION was very definitely flawed. Even if this was the right decision, bringing France (our oldest ally, even if not our closest anymore) into the loop would have been prudent.
