Thais have been Masters of recycling for decades. When I was in Thailand back in the 70s one of the guys I worked with had not received his orders yet returning stateside.

Me and several of the guys from the shop were bar hopping and stopped and bought some street vendor food. One example is Thais used clean waste paper for many things including to sell food items. A popular item was called Monkey Balls but in reality they were made from Water Buffalo, a small meat ball served 4 on a bamboo stick with a spicy peanut sauce. They cost one Baht, a whole nickel back then.

Low and behold one of the guys got a set of the other guys orders in his food purchase, so we knew where he was going before he did.

Nearly all recycling in my area has ceased. Only clean dry cardboard is accepted. Seems no one wants our trash anymore.

t is interesting to see what other countries are doing with plastic bottles and the US is showing nothing.
