Why does the stupid left continue to do this crap? It's because it fits their fear narrative, and once the story is out there, enough people will have their minds made up and the update/retraction has no bearing to them. This "Dr" should have his license revoked. I would say Rolling Stone lost credibility, but they really did;'t have any left...

We have stopped holding media accountable. We have allowed them to quote folks without checking them out - and then it isn't the MEDIA saying these lies, it is the guy they are quoting. It isn't ROLLING STONE'S fault (or Rachel Maddow and NBC who re-tweeted the hell out of it) this doctor lied, they just quoted him.

Back in the day - and this is WAY back, journalism standards have been eroding for years - a print media source that ran a story WITHOUT CHECKING THE SOURCE would have lost all credibility, funding, AND been liable to fines and possible other legal repercussions. This hospital should sue the fuck out of Rolling Stone, but if they do, RS will likely hide behind "we just quoted that guy - he is the one you need to go after". And they will likely get away with it too.

Media has stopped doing due diligence. And we, the public, have allowed them to do so.

Lots of lying going on in our media. That's why the ratings have dropped for TV news and newspapers are going out of business.

Meanwhile, the government subsidizes several of those entities feeding their economic evolution. It's no wonder the media takes a bureaucrat's opinion over the public conscience.
