US WWII veteran reunites with Italians he saved as children

Now that's a heart-warming story! I do hope he's able to meet Pope Francis... he's got a great message to share!

Irony is in war we see the best and worst of humanity.

Of all the countries I served in, Italy holds a special place in my heart. The Artillery Det I was in a sector controlled by the SS during WWII. Old men and women would come and thank us on the street for what our Grandfathers did. A more humbling thanks, I cannot think of.
