1LT William Clardy - No I understand and I saw the comment made in another thread how commies stick together. However in this specific case between these two countries they came to blows as communist led countries in the 1960's over which country was better fit to lead the third world. Russia's biggest issue is if your not a White Russian, you can't be trusted and it permeates their entire society and culture. Impacts their foreign relations severely. Cuba-Russia relations seem well on the surface but to be honest the Cuban government does not view Russia as a close ally and friend but rather a country to be dealt with a healthy dose of suspicion in regards to motivation. It wasn't too long ago Cuba was warning Venezuela on Russian loan terms around arms sales. You would never have a United States ally do that so publicly. The Russian-China dispute actually led to low-level conflict and border skirmishes in the 1960's. Which they seemed to have patched up now but I think part of the patch up is the Chinese Economy now is so much larger than Russia's that China no longer considers Russia a competitor on anything. Still they are not good friends.
