Employers are losing patience with unvaccinated workers.
For months, most employers relied on information campaigns, bonuses and other incentives to encourage their workforces to get the COVID-19 shot. Now, a growing number are imposing rules to make it more onerous for employees to refuse, from outright mandates to requiring the unvaccinated to undergo regular testing.
Among employers getting tougher are the federal government, the state governments of California and New York, tech giants Google and Facebook, the Walt Disney Co. and the NFL. Some hospitals, universities, restaurants, bars and other entertainment venues have also started requiring vaccines.
But the new measures are unlikely to affect many of the millions of unvaccinated Americans.
Many of the companies that are requiring shots have mostly office workers who are already largely vaccinated and are reluctant to work alongside those who aren't.
In contrast, major companies that rely on low-income blue-collar workers — food manufacturers, warehouses, supermarkets and other store chains — are shying away from mandates for fear of driving away employees and worsening the labor shortages such businesses are facing.
Tyson Foods, for instance, said about half of its U.S. workforce — 56,000 employees — has received shots after the meat and poultry processor hosted more than 100 vaccination events since February. But the company said it has no plans to impose a mandate to reach the other half.
Walmart and Amazon, the country's two largest private employers, have also declined to require its hourly workers to get vaccinated, continuing to rely on strategies such as bonuses and onsite access to shots. But in a potentially powerful signal, Walmart said employees at its headquarters will be required to get vaccinated by Oct. 4.

It's a "Volunteer" vaccination. Just like getting the flu shot, the whooping cough and H2N3, which by the way is now administered as a "cocktail" shot. Watching how this plays out with all the contradicting "advice" from Fauci is like watching Abbot and Costello Who's on 1st. Too much false info has been passed out on this virus and vaccine, what and who do you believe? The total of people dying from cv19 has been proven to be false. Person dies of a heart attack cause by cv19. Person dies from brain tumor cause by cv19. We do know that the CDC told hospitals that they WILL mark deaths as complications from cv19, even though there were no signs and test came up negative. Then comes the side effects of taking the cv19 shot. Nothing being reported on that. A good friend had the virus bad. Was in the hospital for about a month. In his recovery time at home the local CDC Dr insisted he get the shot. They did. Not even a week later he started having "weird" feelings in the chest. Worried he went to the hospital. Good thing he did because a side effect from the company made shot caused a rapid and large amount of fluid around his heart. His personal Dr told him that he is treating 5 other patients with the same complications from the same shot and it's not being passed up to State or federal. We see too many healthy individuals with NO existing health issues die after receiving the shot. What do we do now? Fauci, CDC, has come out with another brain scratcher. If you had cv19 virus and fully recovered, you could be a carrier. If you had the shot and no signs, you could be a carrier. If you had the shot and your kids haven't you could still infect them. There is NO 100% way of avoiding it, just like the common cold, the flu or pneumonia. What do we believe in? Most people are sheep and will swallow it all without asking a question.
This is a very dangerous slope we are traversing on with demanding people to get the shot and making people show proof. We don't live in a Republic with a Constitution and Bill of Rights for nothing. This isn't a Socialist country yet as certain people are trying so hard to make it such. Is it not against HIPAA laws which make it illegal for companies, employers, store owners to ask a person if they had taken the shot?? Where does it stop? Do they run it now like the military where they make ALL Americans get certain shots at specific times? Like getting the tetnis shot every 10 years, flu shot every year, HEP A,B and tested for C?
You ask me at any point, I will give you a stern answer. NONA. In the military we had to take certain shots with no say in it. We were experiments. Like the nerve agent pills during Desert Storm. Anthrax which screwed up a large amount of people and those people testifying to Congress along with their Commanders and Congress doing nothing. This shot isn't being forced on the military, as of yet. They know something that's not being told to the civilian populace. But Commanders are singling out those Soldiers who haven't by telling them they still have to wear a mask which paints a target on their backs. They have also threaten UCMJ actions against those Soldiers that haven't been vaccinated and get caught NOT wearing a mask. There are some strong minded actions, being taken by people out there that will target those who aren't and by making them wearing a mask will paint them with a target on their backs.
