This is a pretty short and direct money trail and a total disgrace.

SGT Ann:
The Federal Election Commission has decided not to Ban Election Machines from being connected to
the internet.
This doesn't sound like a fail safe decision to me, makes me wonder who are the Election Commission
members that makes up the Commission ?

Sounds like Equine effluvia to Me. It costs more to include networking hardware, than to leave it out.

But it costs WAY more to send a tech to every voting site for updates. Or even to every state where machines are centralized.

The cost ain't in the manufacture, its in the upkeep.

I still think it is worth the cost (or we just keep it low tech and cheap and use good ol' fashioned paper).

But the cost argument is at least VALID even if not persuasive.
