SPC Nancy Greene While I Hold No Degrees in Religion or Theology, My Heritage, Family History, Makes Religious History Very Important to Me. Scottish (Protestants, Catholics, Calvinist) Prussian (Protestant/Lutheran) Bavarian (Defenders of the Catholic Faith) Lietz (German Jews) Deveraux, Throckmorton (French Speaking, Catholic Tudors). Ever Wonder about the Name "Maryland" Land of the Queen of Saints? Maybe because the Early Settlers were British Catholics Escaping the Protestant Reformation by Henry Tudor VIII, Edward VI, Elizabeth I?

We are told of riches but not of wealth. Jesus said He would grant us peace and joy among other things. Church going people are happier, live longer, their children do better academically etc.. There are scientific studies that inform us of this. If you are granted wealth you have an obligation to God and the poor. This has born fruit in institutions like St Judes Hospital. Wealth in and of it’s self isn’t evil. Pursuing and loving wealth to the exclusion of all else is evil. The Old Testament does seem to imply that prosperity is a blessing from God and a sign of God’s blessing. We are also reminded that he that gives to the poor lends to God. I worry more about ministers of Jesus Gospel who preach on Sunday then tell us it is OK to tear a feeling, both sensory and intellectually, tear a child limb from limb in the mother’s womb the rest of the week. Jesus said “ he who harms the one such as this, referring to children, it would be better to have a millstone tied around their neck and cast in the ocean”. .
