In the Herbst Theater auditorium in San Francisco, delegates from 50 nations sign the United Nations Charter, establishing the world body as a means of saving “succeeding generations from the scourge of war.” The Charter was ratified on October 24, and the first U.N. General Assembly met in London on January 10, 1946.

Thank you for sharing this piece of history ma'am during the Korean War this group of nation's sent a lot of troops to try and stop the communist from taking over the southern part of Korea, have a great Saturday Lt Col Charlie Brown

Lt Col Charlie Brown "to prevent further wars", I hope the UN Charter delegates can revamp what has gone wrong and prevent these seething nuclear emotions going back and forth from certain countries.
