I'd like to know more about this trial. There was a lot of discussion about this very thing as to if the Ford's hull was actually strong enough to withstand a near miss. While not the only thing that lead to it's sinking, a near miss severely damaged the hull of HMS Prince of Wales.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand Tradition with every Major Capital Ship, Part of the Initial Trial and Acceptance. For Some Reason, Someone thought they would skip that Step and that Doesn't bring a Lot of Faith in the Equipment. Looks Like they Finally Did it.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I concur. However, even at $14 billion, probably still the lowest bidder. I still believe in the concept of a lot of smaller combat carriers backed up by a large fleet support carrier.
