Top US general: Chinese military has 'ways to go' before it can take Taiwan

If we fought China it will be a slugfest. Both sides will lose a lot of people and machines. What is it that we have to destroy to ensure they can not win the war? Maybe destroy her whole Air Force? Of the top of my head I vote destroy her Air Force and naval aviation.

I will become Captain Obvious and say having Air Supremacy would kick ass. I think it will reduce the threat to our fleets, and make the Chines fleets vulnerable and without much teeth to bite us. Now we control the seas and the air. We will conduct tactical and strategic air operations. I don't know a lot about munitions, but I think some smart people have been working on new munitions for us. Who knows what the nice surprises will be. Don't quote me on this, but I think I am pretty close with the accuracy. We have bombs that spit out maybe 40 smart cluster bombs. They will actively seek armored vehicles. I don't know if we have ever had such precision bombings like that. I know we did not for Desert Storm. I don't think they were used in Afghanistan or Iraq.

It would be interesting to know what our strategic targets are. What if we go nuclear because someone is getting their ass kicked? Crap.

It will be a double edged sword. We are in China's back yard. China is not in our back yard. However our logistical operations would have to be gigantic and huge to support our military so far from home.

Never underestimate your enemy. I hope his analysis is accurate. The next war won’t be like the last.

China has 4 times the workforce that we do. Plus, they appear to not be bothered unleashing a Bio weapon.
