My question is.....is it going to be taught as to why it is a holiday? Or is that something the GQP doesn't want?

Dear Top, My youngest used to do the proof reading on changes to text books before they went to mass printing. They had the 'War of Northern Aggression' for the Civil War. And yes, they were going to red states.

1SG, that's a good question. Depends on Congress, the governor's, and local legislator's. MLK day wasn't observed by all 50 states either(although now it is), so I'd reasonably expect some people to use this as political capitol when dealing with minorities, and others to be seen as "pandering to minorities". Take your pick on who is who. But for this to be taught as to why it exists, would change history(basically stomp on the Emancipation Proclamation), and show folks weren't as "free" as common taught history would show. It'd also make Native Americans upset because now they'd be forced to acknowledge their role in slavery, and post Proclamation.

We will be in court long before it is fully implemented. Taken to court by who is the question.
