Joan of Arc’s story is incredible. Imagine a 17 year old illiterate peasant girl getting the king of France to turn his army over to her. Then imagine this 17 year old taking over the Army of France and getting the battle hardened Generals and soldiers of France to go along. Then imagine her getting the Generals, the soldiers etc to turn away from the booze, prostitutes etc and start attending church and Confessing Christ. Then imagine her marching her Army into the besieged city of Orleans under the noses of the British with out the British firing or trying to prevent her advancement. Then she actually won the battle! Of course Joan of Arc getting from her mid sized town n rural France to the court of Charles is remarkable. Mark Twain wrote a biography of her that is a fun read. Once captured Joan outwitted the best minds that could be brought against her during her trial. In order to finally convict Joan they took her “ women’s “ clothes and left her “men’s “ clothes. Joan’s choice was to go naked or wear men’s clothes.
