PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I hope Aducanumab proves helpful to Alzheimer’s patients. At the conclusion of my time as an Alzheimer’s caregiver, I concluded the three drugs I was so careful to administer were mostly placebos to make the caregiver feel useful !

I sure hope something develops to combat Alzheimer's. I've lost two Uncles and an Aunt to Alzheimer's. ( My Dad's brother and My Mom's younger sister and brother ) All three were very capable people and both men were Army Veterans and well educated. In none of those cases would I have expected that to happen with three very well adjusted successful people. My great Grandfather also had died from Dementia and He was in the upper executive level of New England Telephone and Telegraph and very intelligent. ( I never knew him as He died before I was born) Its shown on both side of the family and I hope never rises again. My Dad is 95 and He still is fine both physically and mentally, my Mom died from breast cancer at age 92 so neither of them were effected as all their brothers and sisters were.

Did some reading on this and while I entirely understand the desire to find a cure or any kind of help for people with Alzheimer's, this may not be the drug to pin one's hopes on. The clinical trials were not promising.
