Indeed before Johnson left office he was so distraught and frustrated that over a weekend he seriously considered nuking the North. Glad he did not.
And later we discover that five consecutive administrations betray US as military officers advised we could never win a conflict such as this one. Anyone remember our Middle East Conflicts?

I remember the leaks at the time, everyone thought that this guy was just high, but after many years, and knowing some of the places that I've been in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and north of the DMZ, these leaks at the time were for the most part true.
