A few decades after WWII Tuskegee Airmen were interviewed. When they spoke of the P-51 it was almost akin to a man describing a woman who he truly loved. You could see it in their face, hear it in their voice, see their eyes twinkle. They had a tremendous amount of respect for that plane as they were caught up in the reverie and fond memories. Flying the P-51 was a spiritual moment for them, and they loved those planes. If the plane were a horse it would be a thoroughbred. Fast, muscular, and sleek. Their admiration and love for the P-51 knew no bounds.
