I do know when I worked as a Caddie before I even had started playing golf Myself We were not only trained what to do but also about safety, The place I caddied was an exclusive, championship level, private Country club and quite well supervised and the things seen here wouldn't be tolerated. They also tended to have some very top flight golfers. Most days I'd carry two bags 18 holes in the morning and another 18 holes in the afternoon. Members were required to pay for a ticket that let the caddie exchange like cash to get a free drink and a snack to eat for their caddie. Members were NOT allowed to carry their own bags. We had different rate for Caddies that could be worked up to and each level paid Higher, B, A ,AA, AAA and Pro Caddies. I worked up to Pro Caddie and only carried for pros and top flight golfers of which there were quite a few. Every Monday was Caddie day and We could play for free on that course and many of us did including Me. We also had an annual Member Caddie Tournament and a banquet in the clubhouse a jacket and tie affair and lots of golf related gift and even academic awarded scholarships for some caddies.
