A former Republican politician charged with rioting at the US Capitol was caught admitting to his alleged actions during an event calling on the state’s governor, Gavin Newsom, to resign.
Jorge Riley, who recently resigned from the California Republican Assembly, reportedly admitted to his actions at a "Recall Newsom" rally at the state capitol on Sunday.
As CBS Sacramento reported, Mr Riley was recorded by a camera crew at the event saying that he “may or may not have rubbed my butt on Nasty Pelosi's desk."
“I was in there and for the most part almost nobody did anything wrong,” Mr Riley added, as he spoke alongside another accused rioter, Jeffrey Perrine, who went on to say that “I am a Proud Boy”.
