Someone is blowing smoke up our asses to cover up their own negligent discharge. The P320 incorporates a striker-block, which is only deactivated near the end of the trigger pull, so unless that weapon had been inappropriately modified, there is no way to fire it without pulling the trigger. I have a P320, so I am very familiar with the action.

Supposed safety changes were made to prevent this, if you are correct this could turn out vey bad for the plaintiff. That is it is discovered he modified the weapon in any way or did not get the safety upgrade. It could be on the government if they did not get the safety modification done.

MSgt Dale Johnson SIG is still offering the free safety upgrade to all SIG P320 owners whose pistol doesn't incorporate the latest safety features. All work is done by SIG gunsmiths at their factory, and is backed by their lifetime warranty. I bought mine in 2018, and it already had all the upgrades.

A former U.S. Marine and federal agent has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Sig Sauer Inc. alleging that his holstered Sig P320 -- a pistol that the Army's new sidearm is based on -- accidentally discharged, firing a 9mm bullet into his right leg.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday on behalf of Keith Slatowski in U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania, alleges his "substantial injuries" were the result of the handgun's "potentially deadly design defects" that allow it to fire without the user pulling the trigger, according to a news release from Slatowski's attorneys, Jeffrey Bagnell and Robert Zimmerman.

Will be interesting to see how this sorts out if it isn't settled out-of-court. What about the Scorer/examiner or range safety officer... the range video. Let's get the whole story before any speculation or finger pointing. The lawsuit is one thing, but the incident root cause is a valuable lesson waiting to be exposed.

Be nice if we had a video. This would make a good story to cover up for shooting yourself, you know what I mean? The over the top rhetoric-
