New video reveals Mike Pence’s narrow escape during Capitol riot

House impeachment managers showed previously unreleased security footage from inside the US Capitol during the 6 January insurrection, including footage of former Vice President Mike Pence and his family evacuating the US Senate chamber from an adjoining office, as another video shows Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman leading a mob away from the chamber doors.

In another video, Officer Goodman also can be seen directing Senator Mitt Romney to safety as he ran to respond to a breach.

Impeachment managers prosecuting former president Donald Trump in his Senate impeachment trial compiled a video timeline using surveillance footage from inside the Capitol building and other videos to recreate the assault, as a joint session of Congress presided over by Mr Pence convened to formally count the results of the 2020 presidential election on 6 January.

Capt Gregory Prickett - ok, Trump disagreed with Pence. How does that equate to him wanting to put Pence in harms way. We don’t agree most of the time. Does that mean that we wish harm to each other?

Capt Gregory Prickett - ok Greg, I am trying hard to agree with you, but- - - -, I am left with some questions. According to info obtained by the FBI, the attack on the Capitol was an advance planned event, not necessarily By Trump supporters. Pelosi wouldn’t agree to beefing up security or accepting Trumps offer of Ten Thousand NG to protect the Capitol before the attack. At what point did Trump know that there was an attack taking place at the Capitol, while he was giving his speech? When did Trump know when and where Pence would be? There are more questions. I guess what I am saying that if I were presenting a case for trial, I would want every Avenue explored and documented before any trial and finding of guilt. My background left me wanting answers before assessing blame. I truly am trying to be fair and thorough on finding the honest facts, not just running on emotion based on dislike or hatred, if you will, against someone. This thread began as Trump inciting rioters and insurrection. He was giving a speech to a rally, from what I can see, before he knew the attack was taking place. He told his supporters to peaceful and patriotic as they made their voices heard to their legislators. Honestly, what he said does not equate to what he is alleged to have done. Short back and forth here on RP is not getting deep and thorough enough for me to make a final determination. Peace and blessings, my friend from a different viewpoint.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I’m trying to find my cites. My iPad crashed and my comments about Pelosi are lost in the shuffle. In retrospect, I may be confusing her comments about an earlier offer from Trump for NG regarding a different matter. I apologize for that.
