I had 2 military heroes I looked up to as a kid that made me want to join, Audie Murphy was one and "Pappy" Boynton was the other. Great share.

While hiking the AT, I was privileged to render honors and sing Taps at Audie Murphy's crash site on Brush Mountain near New Castle, VA. He was killed in a plane crash 5/28/1971. I watched his movie many times as a kid - what a hero!
