At the time of making December 25th to celebrate Christ's birthday, 99% of people could not read or write. The Catholic Church brought it paganism into organized religion. Where the Church and State were one. That is not Christianity.
It may be a good thing to think about the birth of the word made flesh. But not on a pagan holiday. I could go on. However, this issue needs to be seen in context. The same for Easter. Which is pagan. Infant baptism, Sunday worship...
The leadership of the Catholic Church is more like you 1SG. They believe knowledge will grant them salvation while misleading the masses and looking down their gnostic noses at the poor and hungry. Not believing in the Word made flesh as a perfect sacrifice for human sin.
We will see soon enough, who is correct. Those few that believe in Christ, or the many who do not believe in G-d and his righteousness laws.
Meanwhile, let's get on with giving false witness, hating others, dividing nations and murdering the innocent. Right Comrade Prickett? We can do whatever feels good. We are just animals. So, it doesn't matter.

Well we are primates that is for sure. Knowledge is a subset of belief. I am interested in things that can be proven to be true. If they cannot, I dismiss them. I do this with all things and not only religion. I know it is uncomfortable for believers of all stripes when they are confronted with facts that dispute their beliefs.
