Saw this on debate.org. Should burning the American Flag be punishable by death?
44% of the people who responded to this question said that yes, burning the American flag should be punishable by DEATH.
Wait a minute... these flags typically must be purchased. They aren't giving away American flags away, last I checked. Purchasing the flag makes that flag your property, regardless of what's on the fabric. 44 out of 100 say we should put to death anyone who burns what is likely a piece of their own property just because that property is a mock-up of the American flag...?
I understand strong sentiments towards our flag. I also understand the 1st amendment in the Bill of Rights in the Constitution. What I do NOT understand is the mentality of someone who thinks someone else should be murdered for burning a piece of their own property.
Thoughts, RP community?

If we begin punishing people for burning the flag, then the freedom that flag stands for no longer exists.

This sounds like some 3rd world countries where if you speak against the leaders, you're put in jail and could be sentenced to death. America isn't that country.
