UN's World Food Programme wins Nobel peace prize

The irony of this is that he was nominated by a member of the Nobel committee or whatever they call themselves. Three times. What other president has managed to bring peace of some sorts to the Middle East where Israel is protected? Part of the problem is that there are countries that don't believe Israel is legitimate. It runs very deep. Then of course the fact that President Trump has demanded that they Pony up there NATO money. We are in debt up to our eyeballs because we have been paying for one military action after another with Promises of repayment or financial assistance from other countries that never showed up. That's one of the reasons President Trump has negotiated oil rights from Iraq as restitution for saving their country. He is the first president in history to demand of a country that we have saved twice now to pay for our services. At least that I'm aware of and I'm a student of political history.

But I don't think do European countries vote for the Nobel Peace Prize. It is my understanding that the Norwegian Nobel committee picks 5 laureates as they are called and they ultimately vote.

SSG Robert Ricci I think you are correct. While the selection process might be made up of Norwegians they still respond, to a point, with world thinking. Yes, the president has been selected three times but I think the final vote is swayed by public opinion.

SSG Samuel Kermon I agree. President Obama got one simply for being elected. President Trump's actually done things to earn it.

The world food program has been around for 59 years. President Trump has been around for less than four years and in that period of time he's been nominated three times. What he has just done in the Middle East deserves more than a simple nomination. But in your mind since it's Donald Trump all he gets is a woot woot. Congratulations for getting the a-hole of the day award.
