Doctor Who's time-traveling TARDIS could theoretically exist, says new study - ExtremeTech
Good news, Doctor Who fans! A pair of physicists have proposed a spacetime geometry where Doctor Who's TARDIS would actually be capable of traveling both forward and backward through space and time. This kind of spacetime could actually exist in our own universe, meaning the TARDIS -- if such a craft was ever created -- might actually have a scientific leg to stand on.

Did you know that the transporter idea on Star Trek was added because it saved time and props, instead of having them go the hanger get on a shuttle and fly down, you just hop on a pad and bam you on the planet.

MSG Felipe De Leon Brown - Was watching a show on star trek years ago and they interviewed Shatner and he told the story of how the transporter came to be part of the Enterprise. There is channel 293 on dish that shows every star trek series back to back to back, starts with Star Trek, then Generations, then Deep Space 9, Voyager, the star trek enterprise.

SSG (Join to see) - Thanks for the info. I can't think of any episode that I didn't see at least twice. You might find this hard to believe but I terminated all television service some five years ago. I was fed up with the superficial and uncritical news reporting. Also there was no longer (IMHO) any shows that I found interesting. I use my TV now to watch DVDs on a larger screen than my computers.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Star Trek productions and other series that provided what I call "sparks to stimulate reflection and conversation". I also enjoyed the earlier programming on the HISTORY and DISCOVERY Channels as well as NATURE. How I miss the programs of that era.
