Riding in helicopters can be dangerous. Sometimes the more realistic training is more dangerous. I knew an E-6 crew chief for a Chinook. He was a big guy who played college football. A few months after meeting him he was riding in a Chinook that crashed. I was told it fell out of the sky. I could not believe that the big tough crew chief was gone.
