I do not believe it will be an option in my lifetime to return to a peaceful Afghanistan safe for Americans. If it would become like Vietnam, oh hell yeah I would go, the place is beautiful and full of culture.

I'm glad you would be able to return Maj. and like you Vietnam is a beautiful place, and great culture, I just have to many bad memories of friends, and relatives dying there to return.

I'd actually love to tour Afghanistan someday. The little bit I got to see was beautiful and they have a very rich history. But...extremists have been destroying that history and they tend to not like tourists right now so it'll be sometime before I go.
