Ok, I get that rent a cops contracted to protect federal buildings (fact stated by head of DHS) may be overwhelmed so there is need to augment them. However the minute they step off the sidewalk in front of the building they are protecting they have left their AOR and have no authority. The wanton destruction happening around the cities is not their mission, that is the responsibility of the police and if the police have not asked for help from the Feds controlling rioters is not their job unless the federal building they are protecting is being attacked. Period!

I agree on that. I don't know what level of violence would constitute a hot pursuit to arrest people who physically hurt federal agents.

Portland officials are bad shit crazy/stupid and it’s all political and going to be for the power grab but remember to be careful what you wish for on the democratic side

Nonsense. The rioters don't have to step on to the sidewalk to damage federal property or assault federal law officers. Please show me the reference that legally binds Federal Officers to the sidewalk.
