Good morning Col Burroughs. I like your quote and I've been there (personal equipment notwithstanding) Seriously, some of the really important and memorable times in our lives are the unexpected ones. I find the best thing to do is to accept those and see what can be made of them; often they are better than what was planned if we are willing to keep both an open heart and an open mind. That's how I ended up in the AF instead of the Navy and it was "where I was supposed to be"

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks for the awesome quotes and thoughts today Charlie. Let me leave you with this final thought for today:
"May you always be aware and expect the unexpected to happen throughout your life whether it’s good or bad, always be prepared; may you keep a positive attitude during the unexpected and use resilience for any unexpected things that may happen in these uncertain times in our country; may you keep yourself in the best possible health and ready for the unexpected at all time; and may you keep your family safe, ready for the unexpected, and healthy! Remember the unexpected can be a good thing or a tough situation you need to get handle on right away! Be always prepared for the unexpected!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that your resilience in the face of unexpected trials and testing has grown significantly since your personal salvation. I also expect that your patience has been expanded and hope that your compassion for others going through changes has also blossomed. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep' [Romans 12:15 ESV] Charlie.
I pray you that I have the heart/soul of a servant leader and that we have a firm foundation in the LORD and HIS Word. 'Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock' [Matthews 7:24], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
When you or your loved ones encounter significant unwelcome changes of fortune, health, employment or freedom, I pray that you take to heart ‘we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose’ [Romans 8:28]. I pray that you encourage those who are fearful about the future and are compassionate to those who are struggling with fear.
I pray that parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents do our best to demonstrate faith and trust in the LORD in theses seemingly uncertain times. Every generation seems to go through something never experienced before. Thankfully, the LORD is in complete control of all creation and HE loves each of us
I pray LORD that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer understands and heeds the admonition of the LORD ' Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” [James 4:13-15 ESV]
I pray that each of the elected leaders, legislators, appointed officials, and judges throughout the USA, ]as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America] have or able to take advantage of contingency planning to the benefit of their constituents.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and your loved ones sleep well Wednesday night and will awake healthy on Thursday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.
