Gov. Ron DeSantis is pushing for students to get back into the classroom in the fall, according to Fox 13. “My kids are 3, 2, and a newborn, so they’re just too young to be in school now, but if they were 7, 6, and 5, I’d have no problem, I would view it as incredibly low risk,” DeSantis said during a press conference on Friday. Florida has more cases than all but nine countries and yet they say they don't have a problem. At 31% positive and he has three children, is he ok with losing one of them? Are the children aware of this? "Timmy, it's ok to go to school and play with your friends and hug your teacher but just remember you could be a casualty of COVID but your mom and I are ok with that because we think it's more important for your learning and social behavior if you are in school." Is this what parents are thinking? Or is it the ones who's kids are not in school? Is Gov. DeSantis saying this because his kids aren't in school yet? What if they were, would he still feel the same way?

My kids won't be returning until I can be sure that they are safe.

I don’t recall any casual hugs in school from my teachers in school but isn’t the mortality rate for under the age of 20 world wide less than 1%

LCpl Brad Gross - LCpl Gross, they are going up. Originally the threat was only the elderly and sick but young/middle age adults rose when things opened up. It's only a matter of time before children become the next large category; especially if they are allowed back in school with little to no precautions for masks or social distancing. Hugging teachers surprised me but I'm guessing this is elementary age kids. When you get to middle and high school it becomes inappropriate and even sexual harassment/assault on the teachers part.
