Checkpoint Charlie! Definitely remember this gateway to East Germany...I attempted to go shopping in East Germany three times. I even exchanger West German Deutsch marcs for East German marcs. I put on Class A’s three times and was ‘bumped off the train all three times! Guess I wasn’t ever supposed to see checkpoint Charlie, or go shopping in East Germany;-[

Been there done that spent Many a day and night garding check point charlie. They sure as hell wasn't coming a cross while The 266 second armor division was their. Cowboy 23 - 266 2nd AD 1974 to 1978

My older brother (by 12 years) spent most of his 23 years in the Air Force in Germany,Berlin in particular,he was a trained Russian linguistic and his main focus was listening in on Soviet military transmissions,used to have many photos of Berlin and Check Point Charlie

SGT Philip Roncari - Yeah I worked with Linguists at a Few Locations. Russian, Farsi/Persian, Arabic, Spanish. Being a Spook is a Great Job.

PO1 William Nagel -I remember every couple of years the Feds would do a security check discreetly asking his friends and our neighbors about any conversations or correspondence they had with him ,know he had a fairly high security clearance,his other spots were Turkey and the Northern islands of Japan,he hated those.
