Weird times. Now we have to worry about team members with everything else going on.

I can’t say what exactly would have prevented the tragic and brutal assault and murder of SPC Guillen, but as a leader who has had accountability of subordinates I’m expected to account for them 24/7. I understand SPC Guillen was called into work according to what I’ve read in various articles in the media. With subordinates under my direct supervision I would know if they were on any details or task outside of their regular duty. If they were to be called into work suddenly and unplanned which does happen and it’s usually fine, they let me know. If it was out of the ordinary, I’d contact my supervisor to find out if they were aware. I would also get a notification upon completion of the mission, and if not, red flags would go up and I’d start looking for them. This isn’t hindsight; I’ve practiced what I preach.
