I have to wonder how much of this neonazi BS is a cultural bias, trying to relive their "glory days."

Hey SGT!
I was over there for quite some time, and since I read/write the language I had a closer understanding of their society than most US troops, and to answer your question, no, it's not their culture itself, but they definitely have just as much of a problem with far right hate groups as we do over here, my estimation is about 10-20% of the population who in varying degrees harbors racist sentiments of some kind.

SFC (Join to see) - Thanks. I had a brother there60/61 and he said there was a segment of society that were were still pissed over WWII and that we were an occupying Army. But I had a brother there in the 70s, and a a sister there in in the 1980s and they just complained about an anti American attitude. But I had a son there in the 1990s and the first decade of this century and he said it was not so common anymore. Times change over the decades.

Yep, my uncle served guard duty on the Berlin wall in the early '60s too. He said before he died that back then was far worse than modern day.
Be safe, brother Robert!
