I suppose if you carry weapons, there is intent to use them. ROE becomes muddy in a quickly escalating environment.

MAJ Ken Landgren
Maj John Bell - The difference is some people will use the jack and tire iron. I believe a counter protester killed a protester with a gun. He used the gun.

MAJ Ken Landgren - To which incident are you referring? There are three mentioned in the article.
1) A two men, working together, killed two police officers in two separate incidents. The incidents were not carried out at a protest.
2) Three men were arrested on charges of domestic terrorism and possession of unregistered firearms, no one was killed or injured.
3) A man used a vehicle to drive through a crowd of protestors, fortunately no one was killed. However he was charged with malicious wounding.
None of the aforementioned incidents match your assertion. We cannot assert the relevance or irrelevance of the specific incident until we know which incident to which you refer.
The closest to my mind would be incident 3). Is it now accurate to assume that all people who drive to a protest site have intent to use vehicles to kill/harm someone? I don't think we should restrict a Constitutional right because some one might abuse it. If a legitimate need arose to use a gun, there isn't time to go home, unlock the gun safe and return.

Maj John Bell - Look I am not going to google for it. I read an article where a counter protester assaulted some protesters. He was cornered and killed someone in self defense. If you want to argue be my guest.

MAJ Ken Landgren - That IS what the 2nd Amendment is about. So he had his firearm and felt that it was necessary to use his firearm to protect his life. It isn't about hunting and sport shooting. And I'm sure that there will be an investigation that will determine if it was justified.
