In 5th grade we saw a boy paddled 50x swats and it was shocking and we hated Patrick Green. Students were terrified at the uneven application and for stupid stuff. Not fighting or anything. I had a school mate who was the best student in the class. He misplaced it his book. He was crying and it is ridiculous to paddle good kids. These are not exaggerations. In fact there is a book, Çalled !Reading, Writing and the Hickory Stick!
