He has two Purple Hearts. I can forgive him.

SGT (Join to see) I'd rather vets not use their uniforms in protests. But as you say, he has two purple hearts and that has earned him a lot of latitude in my book.

PO3 Jason M. - If you're asking me if I have more respect for a combat veterans' service than my own? Quite frankly, yes (and that's true of every combat veteran here whom i may disagree with politically). Not that I take anything away from my own service and the service of other peacetime veterans. But in terms of "who gave more", I feel a man wounded in combat gave more than I have.

Perhaps you can but that does not justify misuse of the uniform!

I understand his feelings but using the uniform is wrong

We all may inherit the right to protest, but not all have earned it. He has. His Oath was to the Constitution and he must have served well or been unlucky to have earned his two Purple Hearts. The rest is between him and the law.

The man is no longer in the service and served honorably. He earned the right to keep the uniform when he left. What he does with it after is his choice.
