The left hasn't read the US Constitution in a while now. Article IV Section IV covers domestic violence which is happening right now. Congress and the President have a duty to protect the citizens in their homes and places of business. Congress gave up their Constitutional obligation to the executive in the Insurrection Act. Now it is up to the President to put the insurrection down like a rabid dog and there are many of us who will cheer at that moment.

Have these people forgotten the oath they swore? All Federal officials, elected and appointed (but for the President), take this oath:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
Commissioned officers of the armed services take essentially the same oath, but there’s wording included about the UCMJ.

I think the better question is do you surrender control to insurrectionists using terrorism to negotiate... I don't remember carl von clauzwitz factoring surrender as a victory condition... In fact he was adamant by either annihilating the enemy or forcing their surrender

Maybe Robert you don't understand how all of this actually works. The president (any president) if the situation warrants it, can send in troops to quell rebellion or violence etc. The only question is, when is the right time to do so. You act like posting former generals who do not support this means something. The generals opinion about this is meaningless. Previous presidents have done so. This is not unprecedented. The government has a duty to protect citizens from rebellion/crime and terrorism etc.
