Does the Military Vote Really Lean Republican? | TIME.com

Much has changed since Obama was President. The repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and Obama's push to replace the best and brightest of our Officer Corps with "Yes Men" who would do whatever they're told without questioning the validity, legitimacy, or efficacy of the orders seemed to cause a general shift to the Left. Obama had General Ham relieved for trying to put together a rescue mission for Benghazi despite orders not to do so. He also got rid of Rear Admiral Gaouette, for the role he played in Benghazi. He was recalled for "inappropriate leadership judgment."

There's no question in my mind that one's political views were a consideration in being selected for flag rank and the Obama Administration clearly didn't want anyone promoted that would question Obama's orders... like allowing TG's to serve, which opens up a whole can of worms tangentially related to this discussion.

Personally, I do not believe the military was ever meant to be used for social experimentation. Somehow, despite all the damage done to the military by Liberal policies, the military still manages to get the job done. But if it continues to shift Left, will it still be as effective as it was during the years of Ronald Reagan and GW Bush, where the military's focus was very attuned to warfighting in the most cost-effective, expeditious, and efficient manner possible? And is using the military as a Social Experiment the most responsible thing to do for taxpayers or military personnel, who likewise pay taxes and want to see them used responsibly?
