APOD: 2020 May 5 - Carina in Perspective

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Carina in Perspective." In the graphic arts, a 'perspective' is an approximate representation, generally on a flat surface (such as paper), of an image as it is seen by the eye. It took six consecutive exposures to develop this portion of the Brazilian sky into today's APOD image. Mouse over the APOD page itself and you will see each feature labeled (starting from just above the tree): The Carina Nebula, The Running Chicken Nebula, Southern Cross, and the Coalsack Nebula.
