Isn't it interesting the line community often look down on the medical community when they don't deploy to a combat zone, and now that healthcare professionals are fighting a deadly virus everyone takes them for granted? Infantry gets a combat patch. Healthcare professionals are simply doing what they are supposed to do right?

The Medical response, both civilian and militarily, without question, is/has been heroic. I’m sorry that you feel your profession has been slighted and or looked down upon, now or in the past. As someone who was an Infantryman and a physical therapist assistant and married to a RN knows only to well the sacrifices and the dedication the medical community exhibits on a daily basis. I also know that the success of the infantryman lies in the overall contribution of the combined arms team. I also know that if there was not a private in the infantry or the civilian with a medical ailment there would no need for sergeants, majors, generals or doctors. That Sir is why the soldier with rifle in hand and waves with the other and proudly states “Follow Me”, for he knows with the others behind he knows he cannot fail.
