He was trying to do what was best for his crew, and he got burned for it. Kudos to the crew for recognizing that their Captain was in their corner.

Being a Commanding Officer is not a popularity contest, one of my past COs was probably one of the most disliked, he retired as a VADM. If I were to have had to go to war, he would have been my choice, fearless and mean. Joe Williams, Jr. VADM
