I thought that Germany decided against invasion as a consequence of failing to sweep the Royal Air Force from the skies. That this point meant that any landing would be very costly, especially since the tanks and heavy equipment wouldn't be available to support light infantry. Paratroops would be open to huge losses. Finally, Germany would not have had the logistical ability to support an invasion. This article shows some things I had not thought of. Thanks for a great share.
