Very sincerely heartfelt wishes for a good recovery for her - and for the end of the anguish that you and family must be going through...

That's not the greatest news but guess we have to deal with the cards we have these days. Ive been picking and chopping herbs for tonight's dinner so this song is great to listen to during the process.

Sorry to hear about your sister's condition. Her missing the cortisone is not the worst thing since I have had several in both knees the past few years and it is just a very temporary solution and ultimately one of the worst I have learned this past year. One of the least evasive repairs is stem cell injections which I am considering as knee replacement is the last resort (it can only happen twice then it is a chair for life after that). Being bed-ridden is not good for anyone and the facility she is staying in should have her up and moving daily, but many places do not, they find it inconvenient. Even if she can only sit on the side of the bed and lift her legs that movement is very important...that from my ortho guy. I wish only the best for her and your family during these trying times.

Thank you SGT (Join to see) for those great words of encouragement... My sister was born with a form of Down Syndrome and has been mentally challenged since birth... I won't go into the details, but she cannot communicate her situation well, so my brother and I have been doing our best as her guardians... since our Mother passed on back in 2006... It she has basically been in bed since January 3rd from a broken right hip and I think that has taken its toll on her knee joints... I doubt that she could tolerate a double knee replacement and survive..., but she is currently in good hands even given this coronavirus scenario... The therapist team at her nursing facility have been trying to get her to stand upright and walk, but she can't yet straighten her knees out... THey will be working on that this week and next... I hope it works out for her... Thanks again for your comments...

Sgt (Join to see) - Special people like your sister can do special things many cannot Kerry, as I am sure you have seen. People who may think differently are free of prejudices that others develop when they figure out what they "Cannot" do.
