APOD: 2020 March 13 - Starry Night by Jean François Millet

A good Red Friday evening, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Starry Night by Jean François Millet." As it is already after sunset here in North Carolina as I post this, I hope you enjoy a starry evening wherever you are. I was not familiar with Millet or any of his work until today. Millet was born in 1814 (d. 1875), and was one of the founders of the Barbizon school in rural France. The style takes its name from the village of Barbizon, France, near the Forest of Fontainebleau, where many of the artists gathered. Wikipedia says Millet is noted for his scenes of peasant farmers, but I like how he uses light in his night scenes. There are several examples on line if you'd like to check them out.
