All of this would be moot if educators kept their personal stuff out of the classroom. I never showed pictures of my husband or children to my students.

SSG Robert Webster - On this thread they said they never knew anything about their teachers outside of school. I replied then you didn't grow up in a small town. I'm talking small. Less than 1000 people...you're gonna know everyone's business whether you want to or not and they yours.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - I think that Pretty Prairie, Kansas with a population of 680 qualifies. And considering that my one uncle was the mayor, another relative owned the lumber yard (which no longer exist), another relative owned one of the restaurants in town, another the local farm implement business, and another relative founded the town; I am aware.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I agree with you, but in defense of the teacher, it was a "Get to Know Your Teacher" presentation. She was doing just that, and got suspended for it. The school district was wrong and now has to pay, as they should. As I tell folks sometimes, if you don't want to know the answer, don't ask.

SSG (Join to see) - I agree with you. My daughter's voice coach, employed through her Middle School, made some derogatory comment about Trump. That was not what I paid her to do. I fired her immediately and filed a complaint with the school.

If they choose to condemn her for the picture then ALL family pictures should not be allowed.

That's her personal life, and has no educational value other than to herself. Perhaps a subtle nudge toward her lifestyle choice. Not her job.
