Trump Gives Defense Department Power To Abolish Bargaining For Civilian Unions

Remember that DoD is a government agency; I am not a fan of government agency unions

GOOD...IMHO, unions have no place in Govt service. I have experienced this first hand when trying to get a bargaining unit employee to chase a part desperately needed for an aircraft downrange that was hard broke and drawing fire to the FOB it was on. Needless to say I sent the employee home for not doing their job and got someone else to do it. It upheld but that wasn't the time or place to bring up union "rights" I wasn't asking them to do anything outside their scope...just to stay through lunch (even offered to buy lunch along with letting them have their lunch hour later) and get it rolling because it was time sensitive and critical to Airmen and Marines safety and lives downrange. You would have thought I asked them for their first born child. My actions upheld but it shouldn't have come to that. I ended up firing an employee for not coming to work...hear me clearly...not coming to work until she was ready to...I had to deal with the union for three months until I finally got the base legal team to back me up...then I had to start the process all over again...but I won and it cost me dearly...time away from family, morale in the office cause they saw what the employee was getting away with and downtime from my assigned duties. There is no place for unions in Govt Service!!! Outside I can still see that in some places but inside the govt NO!!! Good on Trump. Hope it holds.

Good move. I was a DOD civilian. What did our union do for us, nothing except dues.
