It is important to correct history and give proper respect to those who deserve it. It must have been a confusing time for soldiers to be asked to make the ultimate sacrifice while treated as second class citizens. They were good enough to die, but not good enough to eat at a restaurant. Senator Daniel Inoue’s father tried to put it in perspective by telling his son before he shipped out that should he die, the country was good and gave much to the family. I love seeing these stories of men and women, long forgotten, finally receiving the honor they deserve.
