Korean troops who fought alongside Americans in Vietnam could get VA health benefits

SGT Philip Roncari - That's pretty much what I always heard from my other Viet Nam vet buddies. I also heard the NVA and VC feared them as much or more than any US troops. It sounds like with good reason.

I was in Korea when the White Horse Division came back. One of the stories was that some Koreans had been captured by the VC and had their ears cut off. The division commander designated a company to locate the VC and taken care of them. Legend has it that the company returned about a month later with some VC skins and the Koreans were pretty much left alone after that.

Well, except like you and me, they are aging. I have one friend here that served with the South Korean Army in Viet Nam. He's a hell of a nice guy. He is still a little embarrassed about his English skills, but he and I communicate just fine. Sometimes his son interprets for us. His grandson trains alongside my daughter at her taekwondo dojo. An interesting side note is that his son married a Vietnamese immigrant. The whole family is really nice.
